SKIM Message Not Received By MIC

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, then SKIM. If SKIM responds, go to next step. If SKIM does not respond, go to BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN FROM SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE  under COMMUNICATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Erase DTC from instrument cluster. Ensure there is still communications with SKIM. Using scan tool, check for same DTC to reappear. If same DTC appears, check connectors, terminals and wiring for obvious damage and repair as necessary. If no obvious damage was found, replace instrument cluster. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. If same DTC does not appear, test is complete. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
