Heated Seat Sensor Test
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect suspect heated seat cushion 4-pin harness connector. On passenger's side, measure resistance between terminal "D" (Black/Yellow wire) and terminal "C" (Tan/Light Blue wire) at heated seat cushion harness connector. On driver's side, measure resistance between terminal "D" (Black/Dark Green wire) and terminal "C" (Tan/Light Blue wire) at heated seat cushion harness connector. Resistance should be 1,000-200,000 ohms. See Figure. If resistance is within specification at all specified terminals, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification at any specified terminal, replace suspect heated seat cushion. See HEATED SEAT CUSHION under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disconnect Seat Heat Interface Module (SHIM) harness connector. Check Black/Yellow wire for opens or shorts between terminal No. 7 at SHIM harness connector and terminal "D" at passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector. Check Black/Dark Green wire for opens or shorts between terminal No. 8 at SHIM harness connector and terminal "D" at driver's heated seat cushion harness connector. See Figure and Figure . If all circuits test okay, go to next step. If any circuit does not test okay, repair open or short in Black/Yellow wire or Black/Dark Green wire between SHIM and suspect heated seat cushion. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Check Tan/Light Blue wire for opens or shorts between terminal No. 2 at SHIM harness connector and terminal "C" at suspect heated seat cushion harness connector. If circuit test okay, repair module concern. Perform SEAT HEAT INTERFACE MODULE TEST . If circuit does not test okay, repair open or short in Tan/Light Blue wire between SHIM and suspect heated seat cushion. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
