Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Installation
- If original sensor will be installed, wipe all traces of old spacer material off sensor pickup face using a clean shop towel. Apply Loctite 242 to sensor mounting bolt threads. Position sensor on steering knuckle. Seat sensor locating tab in hole in steering knuckle and install sensor mounting bolt and tighten to 42 INCH lbs. (4.7 N.m). Using a feeler gauge, measure sensor air gap. Air gap should be .014-.059" (0.36-1.50 mm). If air gap is not within specification, sensor is either loose or damaged.
- Install sensor wire to steering knuckle and brackets. Route sensor wire forward and behind shock absorber. Attach sensor wire to spring seat bracket with grommets on sensor wire. Seat sensor wire grommet in body panel. Connect sensor wire to harness in engine compartment.
