Overdrive Support: Disassembly
- Check piston operation by placing overdrive support on direct clutch drum. See Figure . Apply compressed air to overdrive support feed hole. Ensure piston moves smoothly and does not bind.
- Remove overdrive support from direct clutch drum. Remove front race, thrust bearing, rear race, clutch drum thrust washer and race from overdrive support. See Figure . Using a press and spring compressor, compress piston return spring. Remove piston snap ring.
- Place overdrive support on direct clutch drum. See Figure . Apply compressed air to overdrive support feed hole and remove piston from overdrive support. Remove and discard seal rings and "O" rings.
