Second Brake: Disassembly

  1. Remove second brake drum from output shaft assembly. See Fig 1 . Remove thrust washer from second brake drum.
  2. Using a press and spring compressor, compress piston return springs. Remove snap ring. Remove spring compressor. Remove spring retainer and piston return springs.
  3. Remove second brake piston and piston sleeve from second brake drum by applying compressed air to feed hole on second brake drum. See Fig 2 . Remove "O" rings from second brake piston.
