DTC P1281: Engine Is Cold Too Long: Testing

Start engine and allow it to idle. Road test vehicle under normal operating conditions for 20 minutes. Using scan tool, read engine coolant temperature. If scan tool does not read at least 176°F (80°C), check thermostat and cooling system for probable causes. Repair cooling system as necessary. If scan tool reads at least 176°F (80°C), no problem is indicated at this time. Test is complete.
