PCI Bus Short To Ground
NOTE:
Additional DTCs will be set during following test. Any module connected to PCI bus may set a DTC when junction port splice is removed. Always reconnect junction port splice when testing is completed. Ensure ignition is off and disconnect negative battery cable before proceeding with testing.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove driver's side knee blocker below steering column. Locate junction port connector. Remove splice connector from junction port connector. Turn ignition and all accessories on. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (Yellow/Violet/White wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 40 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Blue wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 10 .
- Access DLC. Check continuity between terminals No. 2 (Yellow/Violet wire) and 4 (Black/Orange wire) on DLC. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists and vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Information Center (VIC), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with VIC, go to step 6 . If continuity does not exist, 9 .
- Disconnect VIC module. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace VIC. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, connect VIC connector and go to next step.
- Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM), VIC connector and Memory Seat Module (MSM). Ensure junction port splice connector is removed. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Yellow/Violet/Brown wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect all module connectors except DDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step if vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM). If vehicle is not equipped with MSM, go to step 9 .
- Disconnect MSM. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, connect MSM and go to next step. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, replace MSM.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet/Orange wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to step 84. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 56 .
- Access DLC. Check continuity between terminals No. 2 (Yellow/Violet wire) and 4 (Black/Orange wire) on DLC. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists and vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Information Center (VIC), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with VIC, go to step 13 . If continuity does not exist, go to step 25 .
- Disconnect VIC module. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace VIC. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, connect VIC connector and go to next step.
- Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM), VIC connector and Memory Seat Module (MSM). Ensure junction port splice connector is removed. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Yellow/Violet/Brown wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect all module connectors except DDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect DDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet/Orange wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to step 84 . If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, go to step 23 .
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Passenger Door Module (PDM), Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) and remote CD changer connectors. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with remote CD changer, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 19) . If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to step 20 . If vehicle is not equipped with remote CD changer, 45RFE 4-speed A/T or MSM, go to step 21 .
- Connect all disconnected modules except remote CD changer. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace remote CD changer. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with MSM, go to step 20 . If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is not equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T or MSM, go to step 21 .
- Connect remote CD changer connector. Disconnect TCM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with MSM, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with MSM, go to step 21 .
- Connect TCM connector. Disconnect MSM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace MSM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect MSM connector. Disconnect Passenger Door Module (PDM) connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect PDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to step 96 . If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to step 39 .
- Connect PDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, go to step 96 . If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), go to step 37 . If vehicle is not equipped with MSM or ATC, test is complete.
- Disconnect MSM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace MSM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to step 37 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet/Orange wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 32 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to step 31 .
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Passenger Door Module (PDM), Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) and remote CD changer connectors. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet/Gray wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with remote CD changer, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 29 . If vehicle is not equipped with remote CD changer or 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 30 .
- Connect all disconnected modules except remote CD changer. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace remote CD changer. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 30 .
- Connect remote CD changer connector. Disconnect TCM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect TCM connector. Disconnect Passenger Door Module (PDM) connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to step 39 .
- Connect PDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to step 96 . If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to step 84.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to step 36 .
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Passenger Door Module (PDM), Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) and remote CD changer connectors. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet/Gray wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with remote CD changer, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 29 . If vehicle is not equipped with remote CD changer or 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 35 .
- Connect all disconnected modules except remote CD changer. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace remote CD changer. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to next step. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is not equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 39 .
- Connect remote CD changer connector. Disconnect TCM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to step 39 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to step 38 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to step 98 . If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 39 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms or if resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (Yellow/Violet/White wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, repair Yellow/Violet/White wire for short to voltage. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, replace BCM.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Blue wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 57 .
- Access DLC. Check continuity between terminals No. 2 (Yellow/Violet wire) and 4 (Black/Orange wire) on DLC. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists and vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Information Center (VIC), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with VIC, go to step 44 . If continuity does not exist, go to step 47 .
- Disconnect VIC module. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace VIC. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM), VIC connector and Memory Seat Module (MSM). Ensure junction port splice connector is removed. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Yellow/Violet/Brown wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect all module connectors except DDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect DDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet/Orange wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to step 84 . If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 48 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet/Orange wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 50 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 51 . If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to step 96 . If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to step 56) .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to step 54) .
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Passenger Door Module (PDM), Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) and remote CD changer connectors. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet/Gray wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with remote CD changer, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 53 . If vehicle is not equipped with remote CD changer or 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 56 .
- Connect all disconnected modules except remote CD changer. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace remote CD changer. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to next step. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is not equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 56 .
- Connect remote CD changer connector. Disconnect TCM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to step 56 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms or if resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms or if resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Disconnect radio PCI bus connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Blue wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, repair Yellow/Violet/Dark Blue wire for short to ground. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, replace radio.
- Access DLC. Check continuity between terminals No. 2 (Yellow/Violet wire) and 4 (Black/Orange wire) on DLC. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, go to step 75 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet/Orange wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to step 84 . If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 60 .
- Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM), Vehicle Information Center (VIC) and Memory Seat Module (MSM). Ensure junction port splice connector is removed. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Yellow/Violet/Brown wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect all module connectors except DDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to step 69) .
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Passenger Door Module (PDM), Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) and remote CD changer connectors. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet/Gray wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with remote CD changer, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 65 . If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Information Center (VIC), go to step 66 . If vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to step 67 . If vehicle is not equipped with remote CD changer, 45RFE 4-speed A/T, VIC or MSM, go to step 68 .
- Connect all disconnected modules except remote CD changer. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace remote CD changer. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Information Center (VIC), go to step 66 . If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to step 67 . If vehicle is not equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, VIC or MSM, go to step 68 .
- Connect remote CD changer connector. Disconnect TCM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Information Center (VIC), go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to step 67 . If vehicle is not equipped with VIC or MSM, go to step 68 .
- Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace Vehicle Information Center (VIC). If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with MSM, go to step 67 .
- Connect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Disconnect Memory Seat Module (MSM). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, replace MSM.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to step 96. If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to step 90 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms and vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Information Center (VIC), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with VIC, go to step 96. If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with VIC, go to step 71 . If vehicle is equipped with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), go to step 72 . If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to step 73 . If vehicle is not equipped with VIC, ATC or MSM, test is complete.
- Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace Vehicle Information Center (VIC). If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to step 96 .
- Disconnect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace Vehicle Information Center (VIC). If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms and vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), go to step 98 . If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with Memory Seat Module (MSM), go to step 74 . If vehicle is not equipped with MSM, test is complete.
- Disconnect Memory Seat Module (MSM). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, go to step 98 . If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, replace MSM.
- Disconnect Memory Seat Module (MSM). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Violet/Brown wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, test is complete. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, replace MSM.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet/Orange wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to step 85 .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to step 82 .
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Passenger Door Module (PDM), Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) and remote CD changer connectors. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet/Gray wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with remote CD changer, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 79 . If vehicle is not equipped with remote CD changer or 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 80 .
- Connect all disconnected modules except remote CD changer. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace remote CD changer. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 80 .
- Connect remote CD changer connector. Disconnect TCM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to step 96 . If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Disconnect Passenger Door Module (PDM). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to step 83 .
- Connect PDM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to step 95 . If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to step 98 . If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Yellow/Violet/Orange wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, repair Yellow/Violet/Orange wire for short to ground. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, replace Airbag Control Module (ACM).
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to step 94) .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to step 96 . If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Passenger Door Module (PDM), Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) and remote CD changer connectors. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet/Gray wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with remote CD changer, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to step 89 . If continuity does not exist and vehicle is equipped with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), go to step 90 . If vehicle is not equipped with remote CD changer, 45RFE 4-speed A/T or ATC, test is complete.
- Connect all disconnected modules except remote CD changer. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace remote CD changer. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), go to step 90 . If vehicle is not equipped with 45RFE 4-speed A/T or ATC, test is complete.
- Connect remote CD changer connector. Disconnect TCM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect TCM connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to step 98 . If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Disconnect Passenger Door Module (PDM). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Connect Passenger Door Module (PDM). Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms, replace PCM. If resistance is 500 ohms or greater and vehicle is equipped with Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIS), go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with SKIS, test is complete.
- Connect PCM. Disconnect Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM). Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Violet/Gray wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 500 ohms or if resistance is 500 ohms or greater, test is complete.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, go to step 97) .
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to step 98 . If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Yellow/Violet/Red wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 1500 ohms, repair Yellow/Violet/Red wire for short to ground. If resistance is 1500 ohms or greater, replace instrument cluster.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If resistance is less than 9000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 9000 ohms or greater, test is complete.
- Disconnect Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) (if equipped). Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire) on junction port connector. If continuity exists, repair Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist, replace ATC. If vehicle is not equipped with ATC, repair Yellow/Violet/Dark Green wire for short to ground.
