Test NTC-26B: Checking A/C System
NOTE:
This test applies to AB body only. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For component location and wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Remove A/C clutch relay. Connect a 12-volt test light to A/C clutch relay connector, fused B+ circuit (Red/Light Green wire). If test light does not come on, repair open fused B+ circuit and perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION . If test light comes on, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of A/C clutch relay output circuit (Dark Blue/Black wire) between A/C clutch and A/C clutch relay connectors. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open A/C clutch relay output circuit and perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Check resistance between ground and A/C clutch connector, ground circuit (Black wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open ground circuit and perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace A/C clutch relay and perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION .
