Test NTC-15A: Checking Battery Temperature Sensor

NOTE: This test does not apply to AN, BE/BR and DN bodies. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For component location and wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  1. Turn ignition on, engine off. Using scan tool, read and record Battery Temperature Sensor (BTS) value. Using a thermometer, read ambient temperature near battery. Go to next step.
  2. If BTS value is not within 10 degrees of thermometer reading, replace BTS and perform TEST VER-5A: ROAD TEST FOR OBD-II TROUBLE CODES  on AB body, or TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION  on all other bodies. If BTS value is within 10 degrees of thermometer reading, BTS is operating properly. Test passed.
