Exterior Lighting Test 2C - Auto Headlights Inoperative

NOTE: Perform EXTERIOR LIGHTING TEST 2A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After each repair, perform TEST VER-1A  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Disconnect headlight switch connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal No. 13 (Light Blue/Red wire) on headlight switch connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to step 5). If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 13 (Light Blue/Red wire) on headlight switch connector and ground. Using scan tool, read headlight status. If scan tool does not display ENABLED, replace BCM. If scan tool displays ENABLED, go to next step.
  3. Close all doors. Ensure ignition and all lights are off. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 5 (Black wire) on headlight switch connector. If resistance is more than 50 ohms, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is 50 ohms or less, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on headlight switch connector. If resistance is more than 50 ohms, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is 50 ohms or less, replace headlight switch.
  5. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, backprobe terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/Red wire) on BCM Black 24-pin connector. Do not disconnect BCM connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is 10 volts or more, repair open in Light Blue/Red wire.
