Housing Assembly: Reassembly

  1. Install sector shaft bearing in steering housing using Handle (8015) and Adapter (7614). See Fig 1. Position bearing so identification marks face away from adapter. Press in bearing until adapter bottoms against housing. DO NOT  bottom bearing in housing.
  2. Coat double-lip oil seal and both washers with grease. Using a suitable size deep socket, install double-lip oil seal into housing, ensuring lips of seal face inward. Install nylon washer, then steel washer. Install snap ring and ensure it seats fully into grove. Press single-lip dust seal into housing bore.
