- Move transfer case shift lever to "N" position. Raise and support vehicle. Loosen shift linkage adjustment bolt enough to allow selector rod to slide freely. See Fig 1. Move shift lever on transfer case and ensure "N" position is selected.
- Tighten shift linkage adjustment bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower vehicle enough to enter driver's seat without allowing wheels to touch ground. Start engine and shift transmission into Drive. Move transfer case shift lever to each gear position and ensure operation is normal. Readjust shift linkage if necessary.
