Check Gauges Indicator Light Test

  1. If check gauges indicator light stays on, with ignition on, or comes on while driving and there is no unusual gauge readings, diagnosis of Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) data bus should be performed.
  2. For PCM testing, see the TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. For CCD data bus testing, check for opens and shorts in CCD data bus circuits. See WIRING DIAGRAM  .
  3. If check gauges indicator light does not illuminate when ignition is on, replace check gauges bulb with a known-good bulb. If check gauges indicator light is still off, and coolant temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, or voltmeter are giving an indication that should trigger check gauges indicator light, perform ACTUATOR TEST  .
