Test 7A - No Response From Memory Seat Module

  1. Remove junction block circuit breaker No. 3 (20-amp). Junction block is behind right kick panel. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on battery supply voltage side of circuit breaker socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open battery supply circuit. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  2. Replace circuit beaker with known good component. If circuit breaker cycles on and off, repair component side of circuit breaker socket for short to ground. If circuit breaker does not cycle on and off, go to next step.
  3. Determine is scan tool still displays NO RESPONSE from driver door module. If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE, inspect component side circuit of circuit breaker No. 3 for intermittent short circuit. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect memory seat module "A" connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on memory seat module connector, terminal No. 10 (Red wire). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Red wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  5. Measure voltage on memory seat module connector, terminal No. 19 (Red wire). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Red wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  6. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on terminal No. 1 (Black wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  7. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on terminal No. 8 (Black wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  8. Disconnect memory seat module White connector. Connect jumper between White connector, terminal No. 18 (Violet/Brown wire) and ground. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
  9. Connect jumper between White connector, terminal No. 19 (White/Black wire) and ground. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open White/Black wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, replace memory seat module.
NOTE: For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM  . After each repair, perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
NOTE: If driver door module is active on bus, omit first 2 steps in following test.
