Housing Assembly: Reassembly

  1. Install sector shaft bearing in steering housing using Handle (8015) and Adapter (7614). See Fig 1 . Position bearing so identification marks face away from adapter. Press in bearing until adapter bottoms against housing. DO NOT  bottom bearing in housing.
  2. Coat double-lip oil seal and both washers with grease. Using a suitable size deep socket, install double-lip oil seal into housing, ensuring lips of seal face inward. Install nylon washer, then steel washer. Install snap ring and ensure it seats fully into grove. Press single-lip dust seal into housing bore.
