Test 1A - Bus Fault Messages

Battery must be fully charged before proceeding. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve messages. See BUS FAULT MESSAGES table and proceed to appropriate test number. If NO RESPONSE message is displayed, see NO RESPONSE DIAGNOSIS  table and proceed to appropriate test number.

BUS FAULT MESSAGES

BUS SHORT TO 5 VOLTS 13A
BUS SHORT TO GROUND 14A
BUS (+) & BUS (-) SHORTED TOGETHER 15A
NO TERMINATION 16A
BUS BIAS LEVEL TOO LOW 17A
BUS BIAS LEVEL TOO HIGH 17A
BUS (+) OPEN 18A
BUS (-) OPEN 18A
NO BUS BIAS 3A
NOT RECEIVING BUS MESSAGES CORRECTLY 17A
NO RESPONSE DIAGNOSIS

Instrument Cluster 6A
Memory Seat Module 7A
Passenger Door Module 8A
Powertrain Control Module 9A

Vehicle Information Center 11A
(1) Battery power to module disconnected.
NOTE: For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM  . After each repair, perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
