Test 1A - Identifying Vehicle Equipment & System Problems

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: Perform TEST VER-1B  after each repair.
  1. Connect scan tool to Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located behind fuse access cover. If scan tool screen is blank, go to TEST 108A . If scan tool screen is not blank, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY SYSTEM, then BODY COMPUTER. If scan tool does not display BUS OPERATIONAL, see VEHICLE COMMUNICATION TESTS  in this article. If scan tool displays BUS OPERATIONAL, go to next step.
  3. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 106A . If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, read Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If scan tool does not display DTCs, see DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY  table below for specific diagnosis. If scan tool displays DTCs, go to TEST 1B .

(1) When diagnosing a system with many apparent failures, start at top of directory and perform test(s) indicated in order. Make required repairs and perform TEST VER-1B  after each repair.
