Charging Verification (VER-3A)

  1. Ensure all engine components are connected. If PCM has been changed and if vehicle is equipped with a factory theft alarm system, start vehicle at least 20 times so alarm will activate when desired.
  2. Connect DRB to data link connector, and erase DTCs. Start engine and raise engine speed to 2000 RPM for at least 30 seconds. Allow engine to idle. Turn engine off. Turn ignition on with engine off. Using DRB, recheck system for DTCs.
  3. If any of the DTCs reset, charging system still needs repair. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS, and return to the BATTERY CONDITION CHECK  .
