WARNING: Vehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
NOTE: The power windows (optional) operate only with the ignition switch in the RUN position. The power window system is powered by Tan wire which connects to the accessory tap in the fuse block. The accessory tap receives its feed from the ignition switch on Orange wire.Orange wire is HOT when the ignition switch is in the RUN position only.Tan wire connects to the master window switch. Black wire provides ground for the power windows. A LOCK-OUT feature is provided on the driver's door window switch. When this feature is engaged, the other windows in the system will not operate.
