Keyless entry is an option on all Cherokee vehicles and is included when vehicle is equipped with power door locks and power windows. All Doors and liftgate can be locked/unlocked electronically by operating LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote keyless entry transmitter through a keyless entry module which uses the power door lock system to lock and unlock vehicle doors and liftgate. Battery voltage is supplied to the keyless entry/power door lock system and is independent of the ignition switch.
