DTC Explanation

  1. See CHARGING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  table for charging-related problems.
  2. DTC 12 will set if battery input to PCM has been disconnected within the last 50 engine starts.
  3. DTC 41 will set if generator field control fails to switch properly. PCM monitors this circuit whenever ignition is on.
  4. If battery voltage is more than one volt above desired control voltage for longer than 20 seconds, DTC 46 will be set in memory. PCM monitors this signal whenever engine is running.
  5. If battery is more than one volt below desired control voltage for more than 20 seconds, DTC 47 will be set. DTC 47 will also set if no significant change in voltage is detected during generator test. PCM monitors this signal whenever engine speed is more than 1500 RPM.
