CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
- Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind left side knee panel. Disconnect BCM Blue connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Blue connector terminal No. 16 (White wire). Lift and hold left door handle. If voltage is less than 4 volts with door handle lifted, replace BCM. If voltage is more than 4 volts with door handle lifted, go to next step.
- Remove left door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch harness connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 1 (White wire) and terminal No. 2 (Black wire). If courtesy lamps light, replace left door illuminated entry switch. If courtesy lamps do not light, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between chassis ground and illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 1 (White wire). If courtesy lamps light, repair open in Black wire. If courtesy lamps do not light, repair open in White wire.
