Test 37E - Checking For Short In Seat Belt Switch Circuit
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
article in this section.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect left front seat belt switch connector. Connector is located under left front seat. Using DRB, read seat belt switch status. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, replace left front seat belt switch. Perform TEST VER-1B . If DRB displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Blue Body Control Module (BCM) connector. BCM is located behind center console. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1B . If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of seat belt switch input circuit (Light Green/Red wire) at Blue body connector terminal No. 3. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Red wire. Perform TEST VER-1B .
