Test 7A - EIC Identifying Faulty Warning Light

NOTE: For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS in this article.
  1. Ensure parking brake is released and all doors are closed. Start engine. If an oil pressure or engine temperature gauge problem exists, go to TEST 5A - EIC  . If no oil pressure or engine temperature gauge problem exists, go to next step.
  2. Using DRB, select SEQUENTIAL LEGENDS test. Sequential legends test should turn every warning light on and then off, one at a time (test passes). If sequential legends test fails, replace Electronic Instrument Cluster (EIC). Perform TEST VER-1B  . If sequential legends test passes, go to next step.
  3. Determine which light is operating incorrectly and perform corresponding test(s) indicated in the WARNING LIGHT TEST table below. Perform TEST VER-1B  after each repair.
