Test 21A - Diagnosing Side Door Memory Lock

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition on and ensure left front door is open and side door is closed. Using DRB, actuate door locks. If side door does not lock, go to step 5). If side door locks, go to next step.
  2. Stop door lock actuation. Ensure side door is closed and read door ajar switch status. If DRB does not display SIDE DR AJAR:OPEN, go to TEST 42A  . If DRB displays SIDE DR AJAR:OPEN, go to next step.
  3. Open side door. Read door ajar switch status. If DRB does not display SIDE DR AJAR:CLOSED, go to TEST 42A  . If DRB displays SIDE DR AJAR:CLOSED, go to next step.
    NOTE: Left front door MUST remain open in following steps.
  4. Turn ignition off and remove key. Using DRB, read key-in ignition status. If DRB does not display KEY IN IGN:OPEN, go to TEST 39B  . If DRB displays KEY IN IGN:OPEN, replace body control module (BCM). Perform TEST VER-1B  .
  5. Stop the door lock actuation procedure. If the front doors do not lockproperly, proceed to TEST 19A  . If the front doors lock, proceed to TEST 19H  .
