Verification Test VER-2
Inspect vehicle to ensure all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary. If another trouble code was read previously and not corrected, return to TEST TC-1A and follow path specified by other trouble codes. If Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has not been replaced, perform following:
- Connect DRB to data link connector, and erase trouble code messages.
- Using DRB, reset all values in adaptive memory.
- Disconnect DRB.
To ensure no other fault remains, perform following:
1) If vehicle is equipped with A/C, turn on A/C and blower motor. Drive vehicle for at least 5 minutes and attain a speed of at least 40 MPH. Ensure transmission shifts through all gears.
2) Upon completion of road test, turn engine off. Restart engine and let idle for at least 2 minutes. Turn engine off. Connect DRB to data link connector.
3) Read all trouble code messages. If repaired trouble code has reset, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent Tech Service Bulletins (TSBs), and return to TEST TC-1A if necessary. If another trouble code message exists, return to TEST TC-1A and follow path specified by other trouble code messages. If no other trouble code messages exist, repair is now complete.
