Diagnostic Procedure: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Jeep Wrangler, 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 1994 Jeep Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Before proceeding with diagnosis, certain precautions must be followed. See PRETEST INSPECTION  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.

Diagnostic test procedures are designed to detect system faults as quickly as possible. Body trouble codes are accessed through CCD BUS Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . DRB tester is used to access information from CCD BUS DLC. See ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.

DRB tester, jumper wires and volt-ohmmeter will be needed for testing. See TEST 1A - IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. Ensure self-diagnostic tests apply to vehicle being tested. When system problem is identified according to customer's complaint, perform indicated diagnostic test.
