Cleaning & Inspection

  1. Clean components with solvent and dry with compressed air. Inspect transmission case and components for damage.
  2. Using caliper, measure free length of piston return springs with springs installed in retainer. Replace piston return springs if free length is not .724" (18.39 mm).
NOTE: Piston return spring free length also includes thickness of retainer.
