Second Brake: Reassembly

  1. Lubricate NEW "O" rings with petroleum jelly and install on second brake piston. Install second brake piston in second brake drum.
  2. Install piston return springs and spring retainer on second brake piston. Using press and spring compressor, compress piston return springs and install snap ring.
  3. Remove spring compressor. Apply compressed air to feed hole on second brake drum which was used for removing second brake piston. See Figure . Ensure second brake piston operates smoothly.
  4. Coat thrust washer with petroleum jelly and install on second brake drum. Ensure notches on thrust washer engage with tabs on spring retainer.
