Fuel System Pressure Release
WARNING:
ALWAYS relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel filler cap. Remove cap from pressure test port on fuel rail. See Fig 1 . Place shop towels around pressure test port to absorb spilled fuel.
- Press the test port valve with a small screwdriver or punch wrapped in shop towels. Remove shop towels and dispose of properly. Install pressure test port cap.
