Valve Body: Installation

  1. Aligning manual valve with the shift sector, carefully position valve body on transmission case. Connect throttle cable to throttle cam. Install 17 valve body attaching bolts. Tighten bolts evenly to 88 INCH lbs. (10 N.m).
  2. Install valve body oil tubes. See Fig 1 . Clean oil screen with solvent. Install oil screen. Tighten bolts to 88 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). Apply RTV-type sealer to oil pan mating surface.
  3. Install oil pan. Tighten oil pan bolts to 65 INCH lbs. (7.4 N.m). Install and tighten oil pan drain plug to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m). Fill transmission.
