Tailgate Window Safety Switch

  1. Safety switch is mounted in upper left side of tailgate. Using a 12-volt test light, connect one end of test light to ground and probe any Brown wire of safety switch. Turn ignition on and place instrument panel tailgate switch in UP position.
  2. If test light does not illuminate, move panel switch to DOWN. If test light still does not illuminate, there is an open in circuit.
  3. If test light illuminates in either switch position, move probe to other Brown wire of safety switch. Leave panel switch in position that illuminated test light.
  4. Manually close safety switch (ensure tailgate window glass is supported). If test light does not illuminate, replace safety switch. If test light does illuminate, proceed to TAILGATE WINDOW MOTOR  .
