Valve Body: Disassembly
WARNING:
Primary regulator valve sleeve and plunger are under tension from the valve spring. See Figure
. Exert counter-pressure on the spring while removing the valve retainer to prevent components from flying out.
- Remove upper body from lower body. Remove detent spring, manual valve and attaching bolts. Carefully lift and remove upper body, plate and gaskets from lower body. Discard valve body gasket.
- Remove strainer and nine check balls. Note check ball position for assembly reference. See Fig 1 .
