Neutral Safety Switch
- Disconnect harness connector from neutral safety switch located on manual valve shaft. See Figure . Using an ohmmeter on the switch side of harness connector, check for continuity between harness connector terminals while shifting through all positions. See Figure .
- Continuity should exist between terminals "B" and "C" when in Park and Neutral position only. Continuity should exist between terminals "A" and "E" when in Reverse position only.
- Continuity should exist between terminals "A" and "G" when in 3rd gear. Continuity should exist between "A" and "H" when in first or second gear.
- If any of the continuity readings are incorrect, neutral safety switch needs replacing or adjusting. See NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
