The TCU controls the valve body in all forward gear ranges through information received from sensors and switches. Sensors monitor vehicle speed, throttle demand and brake pedal application. After receiving the various sensor signals, the TCU can determine the correct shift and lock-up points, and activate the appropriate solenoid. See Fig 1 .
