Brake Light Out

  1. Check parking brake switch with ignition on and engine off, park brake applied and park brake switch disconnected. Connect jumper wire between park brake switch connector and ground. If indicator light is on, replace switch. If indicator light off, repair open from ignition switch.
  2. Check brake pressure warning switch with ignition on and engine off. Using DVOM, measure voltage at brake pressure warning switch connector terminal "B". See Figure . If battery voltage is not present, repair open in wire from printed circuit.
  3. Using DVOM, measure voltage at brake pressure warning switch connector terminal "A". If battery voltage is not present, replace switch.
  4. Using DVOM, measure voltage at ignition switch connector terminal G1. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in wire from brake pressure warning switch. If battery voltage is present, replace defective ignition switch.
