Verification Test VER-3A - Soft Fault Code Test
At this point you have done a visual inspection, found a fault code and test driven vehicle. The fault code has not reappeared, so it is not a current or "hard" fault, but rather intermittent or "soft" fault. Proceed as follows:
- Refer to FAULT MESSAGES/CODES in TESTING & TROUBLE SHOOTING to determine how soft fault code was set.
- Refer to wiring diagram to identify wiring, connectors and components that could have caused the fault.
- Carefully inspect the entire suspect circuit. Check connectors. Check for corrosion, accident damage, and improper or missing parts.
- Wiggle wiring harness to try to reset fault. If fault resets, perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION OF COMPLAINT . If fault DOES NOT reset, perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2A - VERIFICATION OF REPAIR .
