Fuel Injector: Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove throttle body upper and lower bonnet. Remove injector connector by compressing lock tabs and lift upward. Remove injector retainer screws. Remove retainer. See Fig 1
.CAUTION: Injector has small locking tab that fits into a slot in bottom of injector bore. DO NOT twist injector during removal.
- Gently grasp center collar of injector and remove injector by rocking it back and forth while lifting upward. Remove and discard centering ring, upper "O" ring and lower "O" ring.
CAUTION:
DO NOT
reuse centering ring or upper and lower "O" rings. Fuel leakage and poor driveability can result.
