Upshift Indicator Lamp

ECU controls upshift indicator lamp, which is found only in vehicles with M/T. Indicator lamp lights up as bulb check when ignition is on with engine not running. Lamp turns off when engine starts.

Indicator lamp lights when engine load and speed indicates need for upshift to ECU. If gears are not shifted, ECU will turn lamp off after 3 to 5 seconds. Switch on transmission keeps lamp from lighting when transmission is in highest gear.
