Resistance Wire

A wire with 1.3-1.4 ohms resistance is provided in the Red wire (engine running) circuit to supply less than battery voltage to the coil.

This resistance wire is by-passed during starting, so that full battery voltage may be applied to the coil. The by-pass is accomplished through the "I" terminal of the starter solenoid.
