System Operation: Notes

If the temperature in the engine compartment reaches the trigger threshold, or if the FIRE switch is pressed, the fire control module activates the firing head on the fire extinguisher and sounds the alarm. The firing head opens and allows pressurized foam from the fire extinguisher into the distribution system, where it is sprayed through the six nozzles into the engine compartment.
