4.19.1 Sensor Stuck

This monitor checks that the engine oil temperature sensor is not stuck in range.

If the engine speed is over a calibrated limit, the engine is not stalled, the engine has been off for more than a certain time and the coolant temperature has changed by a calibrated value, then the oil temperature must change by a calibrated amount within a predetermined time period, otherwise a failure will be detected. If the oil temperature does change by an amount equal to or greater than this threshold then a normal judgment is made.
