Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - General Procedures
- Remove the rear seat armrest. Refer to Rear Seat Armrest article.
- Remove the floor console veneer trim panel. Refer to Floor Console Finish Panel
article.
- Remove the floor console rear panel.
- Carefully release the 2 clips.
- Remove the floor console side panel trim.
- Remove the 2 Torx bolts.
- Carefully release 11 clips.
- Repeat the procedure and remove the opposite hand.
- Carefully disconnect the selector cable ball joint.
- Apply gentle pressure.
- Release the gear selector cable at the abutment.
- Loosen the 2 lock nuts.
- Fully extend the inner cable while supporting the outer, then retract the inner cable one detent.
- Using the transmission selector lever, position to the REVERSE detent.
- Install the gear selector cable to the floor console abutment.
- Position and lightly tighten the adjusting nuts.
- Connect the selector cable ball joint.
- Adjust the cable, until the ball joint socket aligns with the ball, on the transmission selector lever.
- Check the operation of the transmission selector lever through the gate and detents.
- If the adjustment is correct, tighten the lock nuts to 20 Nm (14 lb.ft).
- Install the floor console side panel trim.
- Carefully align and secure the clips.
- Tighten the Torx screws to 6 Nm (4 lb.ft).
- Install the opposite hand.
- Install the floor console rear panel.
- Align the lugs and secure the clips.
- Install the floor console veneer trim panel. Refer to Floor Console Finish Panel article.
- Install the rear seat armrest. Refer to Rear Seat Armrest article.

Use an additional wrench to prevent the component from rotating.
