(1) Engine identification is determined by vehicle model. The 11th position of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is used to determine the vehicle model.
(2) In 2000 the VIN designation for the XJ8 Supercharged (Vanden Plas) is "P" and in 2001 the VIN designation for the XJ8 Supercharged (Vanden Plas) is "M".
