Selector Lever Cable and Bracket - Removal and Installation: Installation

    NOTE: Make sure the selector lever cable grommet is seated correctly.
  1. Install the selector lever cable and bracket.

  2. Attach the selector lever cable and bracket.
    • Tighten to 11 Nm.

  3. Attach the selector lever cable to the automatic transmission gear selector.
  4. Lower the vehicle.

  5. Install a new selector lever cable retaining tie strap.
  6. NOTE: Fully extend the selector cable, then retract the selector cable one detent.
  7. Make sure the selector lever cable is in the "R" position.
  8. Make sure the transmission selector lever is in the "R" position.

  9. NOTE: Make sure the selector cable and transmission selector lever have remained in the "R" position.
  10. Attach the selector lever cable to the transmission selector lever bracket.

  11. NOTE: Make sure the selector cable and transmission selector lever have remained in the "R" position.
  12. Attach the selector lever cable to the transmission selector lever linkage.

  13. NOTE: Make sure the selector cable and transmission selector lever have remained in the "R" position.
  14. Adjust the selector lever cable adjustment nuts to lock against the retaining bracket.
    • Do not fully tighten the selector lever cable adjustment nuts.
  15. Make sure all transmission selector lever positions select the relevant automatic transmission states.

  16. NOTE: When tightening the selector lever cable adjustment nuts, make sure both adjustment nuts are tightened to the specified torque simultaneously.
  17. Tighten the selector lever cable adjustment nuts.
    • Tighten to 20 Nm.
  18. Install the floor console. Refer to Instrument Panel and Console article.
