Check filler cap, system pipe work, fuel tank, Refer to Pinpoint Test B . For fuel tank information, Refer to Fuel Tank and Lines article. Where K-Line or Vacutec equipment is available, carry out the appropriate test.
P0443 Evaporative Emissions Canister purge valve malfunction (leaking)
  • Canister purge valve failure.
Carry out system pressure check (K-Line or Vacutec equipment)
P0444 Evaporative Emissions Canister purge valve circuit open circuit
  • Canister purge valve disconnected
  • Canister purge valve to ECM drive circuit; open circuit, high resistance
  • Canister purge valve failure.
Check purge valve connections, Refer to Pinpoint Test B .
P0445 Evaporative Emissions Canister purge valve circuit short circuit
  • Canister purge valve to ECM drive circuit; short circuit to ground

P0603 Engine Ignition ECM data corrupted

Contact Dealer technical support for advice on possible ECM failure.
P0605 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle EEPROM /FLASH checksum.  
NOTE: If DTC has been logged after a new TCM has been fitted and flashed, an error has occurred during the process. Check the file used for flashing process is correct and repeat the flash process.
CLEAR ALL DTC's. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTC resets, install a new TCM and Main Control Valve Body. For additional information, Refer to Transmission Control Module (TCM) and Main Control Valve Body - In-Vehicle Procedures .
P0606 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Watchdog monitoring locking mechanism. CLEAR ALL DTC's. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTC resets, install a new TCM and Main Control Valve Body. For additional information, refer to Transmission Control Module (TCM) and Main Control Valve Body - In-Vehicle Procedures .
P0610 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Engine control module (ECM) and TCM fault. Incorrect configuration or calibration loaded for ECM and TCM.
NOTE: If DTC has been logged after a new TCM has been fitted and flashed, an error has occurred during the process. Check the file used for flashing process is correct and repeat the flash process.
CHECK the ECM and TCM for correct software configuration and calibration.CLEAR ALL DTC's. TEST the system for normal operation.
P0617 Starting System Starter relay drive circuit high voltage/starter relay request on (ignition switch to the START position)
  • Starter relay drive circuit; short circuit to high voltage
  • Starter relay failure
For relay drive circuit tests, Refer to Pinpoint Test B . For starter relay circuit tests, Refer to Electronic Engine Controls article.
P0641 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle All sensor's supply voltage fault.   CLEAR ALL DTC's. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTC resets, install a new TCM and Main Control Valve Body. For additional information, refer to Transmission Control Module (TCM) and Main Control Valve Body - In-Vehicle Procedures .
P0651 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Transmission pressure regulator and solenoid fault. Transmission pressure regulator and solenoid supply open or short circuit.
P0666 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Substrate temperature sensor fault. Substrate temperature sensor open or short circuit. CLEAR ALL DTC's. TEST the system for normal operation. Carry out a drive cycle test. If DTC resets, install a new TCM and Main Control Valve Body. For additional information, refer to Transmission Control Module (TCM) and Main Control Valve Body - In-Vehicle Procedures .
P0701 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Combination of DTC's present. Impossible substrate functions. CLEAR ALL DTC's. TEST the system for normal operation.
P0702 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Electrical system undervoltage. Charging fault whilst engine is running. Refer to Charging System - General Information .
P0705 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Transmission position switch fault. Transmission position switch open or short circuit. CLEAR ALL DTC's. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTC resets, install a new TCM and Main Control Valve Body. For additional information, refer to Transmission Control Module (TCM) and Main Control Valve Body - In-Vehicle Procedures .
P0706 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Implausible J-Gate position. No manual selection of gears. Refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle External Controls .
P0706 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle External Controls Gear selector position plausibility fault
  • TCM/linear switch module CAN fault
  • Linear switch module failure
  • TCM/control valve failure

P0709 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Intermediate J-Gate position.   CLEAR ALL DTC's. TEST the system for normal operation. If DTC resets, INSTALL new components as necessary.
P0709 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle External Controls Gear selector intermediate position fault
  • Linear switch module failure
For linear switch module failure, Refer to Module Communications Network article.
P0710 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Transmission fluid temperature signal fault. Transmission fluid temperature sensor open or short circuit.   CLEAR ALL DTC's.
