Torque Converter

The torque converter:

• Acts as a fluid coupling between the engine and transmission geartrain.
• Provides multiplication of engine torque.
• Consists of an impeller, turbine and stator, housed within a converter cover.
• Has a lock-up clutch with variable slip control.
