All vehicles

  1. Set the hood to the service access position.
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  3. Remove the left-hand valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER LH .
  4. Remove the right-hand valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER RH .
  5. Remove the crankshaft pulley. For additional information, refer to CRANKSHAFT PULLEY - VEHICLES WITHOUT: SUPERCHARGER  or CRANKSHAFT PULLEY - VEHICLES WITH: SUPERCHARGER .
  6. Remove the water pump pulley.

  7. Detach the engine harness from the engine front cover.

  8. Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner.
    • Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner retaining bolt. (1)
    • Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner. (2)

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt idler pulley.

  1. Remove the engine front cover.
    • Remove and discard the engine front cover seals.
