Removal & Installation

  1. Turn ignition on. Move passenger's seat fully rearward. Turn ignition off. Remove battery cover and disconnect negative battery cable. On XJR and XJ8, remove glove box screws (4 upper and 2 lower) and glove box.
  2. On XK8, remove 4 screws attaching liner to facia. Remove 4 screws and release tangs securing glove box to crossmember. Remove glove box. Remove air duct from footwell.
  3. On all models, remove bolt and disconnect harness connector. Remove 3 nuts securing module to fascia. Remove Body Control Module (BCM). See Fig 1.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. On XJR and XJ8, synchronize Standard Corporate Protocol (SCP) network modules using Jaguar's Portable Diagnostic Unit (PDU).
