Self-Diagnostic System: Notes

The ECM receives vehicle speed, wheel speed and traction control signals through CAN system. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. ECM receives input/output speed, gear position and torque converter status information from Transmission Control Module (TCM). If information received is not within specific parameters, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set. See RETRIEVING CODES . Cruise control system can set 10 different DTCs. Cruise control switch can set 5 different DTCs, Vacuum Switching Valves (VSVs) can set 4 different DTCs and brake switch can set one DTC.
